Kinko’s Japan Co., Ltd. sponsored “PowerPoint Design Course for Creating PowerPoint Presentations that Convey Messages Effectively”
Kinko’s Japan Co., Ltd., a regular supporter of BEYOND Tomorrow’s activities, offered a Power Point design course for students as part of a cooperative program.
Objective
The purpose of the course was to help students learn how to effectively design presentations using presentation software, which is an essential skill for working students, and to help the participating students apply this knowledge to their daily lives.

Practical lectures by design professionals
Participants were provided with practical knowledge on important aspects of creating a “PowerPoint Presentations that Convey Messages Effectively” such as font size, font type, photo placement, effective editing, and color usage, while presenters show how to use PowerPoint in practice on a shared screen.
It was also a valuable opportunity for students to learn about “tone and manner” and other information they will need in the future.
Design Workshop
After the lecture, students were divided into groups of two or three and worked on a workshop to create a PowerPoint presentation online.
Given a task of creating a presentation explaining “Japan Future Leaders Summit 2024,” in which they had previously participated, the students created PowerPoint presentations, utilizing what they learned in this course.

- In high school, we have to make PowerPoint presentations quite often, so I would like to make use of what I have learned in this lecture and be able to make slides that will surprise and impress everyone.
- The two hours flew by as I was able to listen to valuable talks that I don’t usually have the chance to learn about. I would like to make use of what I learned today in my future life.
- As a university student starting in April, I will have many opportunities to give presentations using slides I created on my computer, so this lecture was very meaningful for my future.
