BEYOND Tomorrow Summer Global Program 2016

Overview
In the summer of 2016, BEYOND Tomorrow conducted the BEYOND Tomorrow Summer Global Program in key cities across the United States and Asia. The program provided high school and university students from all over Japan who aspire to become global leaders but have limited access to various opportunities, a chance to visit the United States and Korea, experience different cultures, interact with leaders active in each region, and consider their own role in society.
Program
Program in the U.S. (Boston, Washington D.C. and New York)
Dates: July 30 to August 12
Selected students with aspirations to become global leaders visited Boston, Washington D.C. and New York. The students visited organizations and individuals that are working to improve the state of society. Not only did they learn about the history, culture and society of the United States, but they also talked about the current situation of Japan for American people.
Program in Asia (Korea)
Dates: August 16 to August 24
19 high school and university students from Japan and Korea visited Seoul, Daejeon and Busan to observe and discuss about the social issues existing in both countries. The 8-days program provided opportunities for students to share their views on bilateral relationship and engage in personal dialogue. These interactions enabled them to develop mutual understanding and strengthen their friendship.
