“It was a valuable opportunity for me to reevaluate my way of life.” June Online Program Report
~Searching for tips to achieve the “me I want to be”

Overview
On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, BEYOND Tomorrow held an online program for scholarship students participating in the BEYOND Tomorrow Endeavor and Scholarship Programs!
The theme of this program was “Searching for Tips to Achieve ‘Who You Want to Be’”.
A few months after the start of the new school year and school term, six interns (university students, etc.) led the program to help Endeavor students (high school students) who are thinking about their future career paths and Scholarship students (university students, etc.) who have started thinking about their future in a new environment to make more realistic and satisfactory career choices for themselves. Six interns (university students, etc.) played a central role in planning the online program from the perspective of the scholarship recipients.
The online program consisted of two parts: a self-analysis workshop and a guest session to help participants define their visions for the future while valuing their “desire to do (blank).”

Program Highlights
<Self-analysis workshop>
The first half of the program was spent analyzing oneself by filling in worksheets about one’s strengths, weaknesses, and likes.
After that, they were divided into groups of 3~4 people and each asked themselves “Why…? What are the other options?” The session provided an opportunity for participants to rethink what they want to do and what their dreams are, and to think about “what they really want to do” through in-depth questions such as “Why…?”

<Guest Session>
Ms. Reiko Hayashi, Executive Vice President of BofA Securities Co., Ltd. was invited as a guest speaker to share her experiences as a front-line leader in the business field, such as how she has connected her aptitude to her career path and how she utilizes her strengths in an organization.
She spoke with warm words of encouragement, looking ahead to the future of the scholarship recipients, based on her own experience of “overcoming various difficulties and challenges to get to where she is today.”
Students’ Impressions
Endeavor Student: A
I was able to visually grasp what I like and what I want to do. I was also able to think a little more concretely about what I would like to do in the future by speaking up in group work and listening to other people’s opinions.
Scholarship Student: B
I felt that it was a valuable opportunity for me to review my own way of life as well, as I was able to listen to the real-life experiences of people who seem to be perfectly successful, but who have been able to lead their current way of life because they made efforts and struggled to improve when they ran into many obstacles.
Endeavor Student: C
Seeing how Ms. Hayashi has designed her own life plan while confronting numerous problems that she had no control over, I was inspired to face myself to find my “purpose in life” and to realize my path.
